To Break Down Barriers

A paralyzed man cannot get to Jesus because the crowd has filled every entrance. His four friends carry him to the roof, tear a hole in it and lower him down. Jesus looks up and sees their faith, not the paralyzed man's faith, the friends' faith. Going outside sometimes means finding another way in when the door will not open. This week the congregation is invited to do exactly that, beginning with learning a few words of Nuer, the language of many of the South Sudanese families who are part of the Immanuel story.
