BAPTISM

A Celebration of
God's Unconditional Love

Baptism is one of the most joyous occasions in the life of our church! It is a sacred milestone where we celebrate God’s deep, unconditional love and formally welcome a person into the global family of Christ. Whether you are seeking baptism for yourself or your child, we would be honored to walk alongside you in this meaningful step of faith.

THE SACRAMENT

What Does Baptism Mean?

In the United Methodist Church, baptism is recognized as a sacrament—a visible sign of an inward grace. We believe that baptism is less about what we do, and more about what God does. It is a covenant of God's saving love, a symbol of the washing away of our sins, and the official initiation into the body of Christ. Through baptism, we are claiming our identity as beloved children of God.

FOR ALL AGES

Infants, Children, and Adults.

We believe that God’s grace is available to everyone, regardless of age. Therefore, we joyfully celebrate baptism for people in all stages of life:

Infants and Children

When a baby or young child is baptized, the parents and the church congregation take vows to raise the child in a community of faith. We trust in God's "prevenient grace"—the grace that claims us and loves us long before we can even understand it.

Youth and Adults

For those who were not baptized as children, we offer "believer’s baptism." This occurs when an individual is ready to publicly profess their own faith in Jesus Christ and take responsibility for their spiritual journey.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Ready to Plan a Baptism?

If you are ready to take this step for yourself or your child, we would love to connect with you. The process begins with a simple conversation with one of our pastors to discuss the meaning of the sacrament and the logistics of the service.
