There are three key tenets of the Immanuel experience...
LOVE. Jesus said, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you" (John 15:12). The members of Immanuel take this to heart with genuine caring for the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being of all people that God brings our way.
SERVICE. Jesus called on his followers to feed, clothe, shelter, and care for the "least" of society (Matthew 25:31-46), and an emphasis on taking an active role in the affairs of the world has always been a cornerstone of the United Methodist tradition. At Immanuel, we firmly believe that God leads us to serve however we are able in our neighborhood, our city, our nation, and our world.
PRAYER. The Bible says, "Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart" (Philippians 4:6). Prayer is not an afterthought at Immanuel – it is the heartbeat of our life together, and it is one of the reasons we exist!
These three tenets are emphasized in Immanuel's Vision Statement:
In Christ, live a life of love, service, and prayer.
We invite you to come see how fulfilling a life of love, service, and prayer can truly be!
