During his sermon on 1/10/2010 >>, Pastor Gary introduced the Immanuel congregation to a covenant prayer that was used during "Covenant Services" by United Methodist Church founder John Wesley >>

Pastor Gary encouraged everyone present to pray this prayer every day in 2010 to renew their covenant with God, and to remind them to put their day into God's hands.  Whether you're a member of Immanuel or not, revisit this prayer often and reflect upon the power of the words until they are real in your life...  for 2010 and beyond.

The Wesley Covenant Prayer for Disciples of Jesus

I am no longer my own, but thine.

Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.

And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou are mine, and I am thine.
So be it.
And the covenant which I have made, let it be ratified in heaven.

Amen.
